Christmas Tree Sales

Christmas tree sales are one of the major fundraising events of the year for the 433rd Scouts, Cubs and Beavers and we need the help of all of our parents to make it happen.

Tree sales take place during the first four weekends of December. Our sponsor, St. Luke's United Church, graciously gives up part of their parking lot to allow us to set up our tree compound.

Trees are available to the general public each Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. The parents make up our dedicated "Sales Team". Each sales shift is two to three hours long and requires approximately two adults per shift. In total we require 60 adult volunteer "slots" to be filled. Therefore, in order for us to cover the entire sales period we need each family to commit to covering at least two sales shifts. It's actually a lot of fun. Everyone gets into the Christmas spirit and most of our customers have been buying their trees from us for many years. They are very supportive of the Scouting movement and the 433rd in particular.

We thank you in advance for all of your help. Should you have any questions please feel free to contact any member of the Christmas Tree Committee whose names and home telephone numbers appear below:

Apple Day a Resounding Success!

While the weekend was a bit on the cool side, the 433rd Toronto Apple Day turned out to be a resounding success! In fact it was the most successful in recent history!

A total of 49 Scouts, Cubs and Beavers participated throughout the two days. This was our best turnout ever and we collected a total of $2,644.86, compared to $1,600 last year.

Congratulations are in order for everyone who participated and great big THANK YOU to all of our dedicated parents for helping out.

Footwear for Gymnasium

We have been asked by the church to once again remind parents that proper footwear should be worn when attending meetings. To our great pleasure, the gymnasium has been completely remodeled this year, including a brand new tile floor. Some scuff marks have unfortunately been appearing on the floor at our meetings.
We once again remind parents that the children should wear white-soled or non-scuffing footwear to the meetings.
